Notes from previous discussions
Mick Jagger of
the Rolling Stones said he "can't get no satisfaction."
But Christopher, Philosopher CAN! Join in with his group
dedicated to exploring those attributes which best help a
society sustain itself long into the future...
Think! Use your mind...Exercise Your Right To Be Free
An educational and informational resource based on the ideals
of the American founding fathers.
Sustainability is much, much more
than just the environment. True sustainability requires a
total package approach encompassing all areas of the person and
our society. Balance is key.
Many of
today's "problem-solvers" and "leaders" suffer
from too narrow an approach which is more counterproductive to the
issues they purport to be "solving." Working
together on the self, the mind, the politics and
spirituality of a society from a consistent logical basis helps
solve problems better than a sound-bite, narrow, piecemeal
approach. (No wonder we have trouble with the big issues in
society- we only try to solve a small portion of the problem while
allowing for inconsistencies to gobble up our efforts and
sometimes make our problems even worse. This makes no sense,
so I'm offering a choice to get back to the way the Founding
Fathers approached things.
Christopher, Philosopher's idea of Sustainable
Society whole concept, eclectic approach gets at
the core of solving our world's problems by focusing on personal
decision-making, freedom and free-will utilization, compassion,
responsibility and voluntary involvement. This is not
a "quick-fix" approach, but one that is actually
concerned with solving problems long-term and finding the best solutions,
wherever they may be.
For three years my
goal in hosting these free, open-to-all live discussions has been to
talk and listen, think and develop ideas and share insights with all
kinds of people, in the hope that by learning how to discuss
difficult subjects together in an open, informative environment with
others who may or may not share each others' opinions is a positive
experience that enriches the minds and lives of those who
participate.
Thinking is something that seems to
be de-emphasized in our society today. Comparative thinking is
encouraged even less. Therefore, I am committed to providing a
live in-person forum open to all who come to share ideas, challenge
their minds, beliefs and desires, and by so doing help make our
world just a little better for having taken the time.
Why not come and join us in person
for a few hours for a fun and truly enlightening evening after work
to listen, talk and participate? Enjoy sharing
in person with others who you may not have ever had a place to
listen to before in a unique, non-threatening environment. It's
an opportunity afforded to us all as Americans, why not exercise the
rights your founding fathers gave to you over 200 years ago.

New
Project in Production:
In the Studio:
C,P recording ten new songs for upcoming fall/winter 2008 debut

In
January, 2008 C,P began work on an all-new project featuring
newly-produced songs for a touring production with an
as-yet-unnamed title.
"This project is the next step in the process of
synthesizing all I have worked on for the past several years with
the Sustainable Society discussions, the LWSTS events, the charity
and volunteer work we have been involved in, as well as the
issues-based focus we have taken to enlighten and effect positive
changes in society.
"As I have come in contact with many
people from a variety of backgrounds, I have seen the connections
that they have in common. The underlying spirit and attitude
that encourages both freedom and a positive direction in life and
society cannot be underestimated. In order to make things
better in our society we must reach out further into our society
and stand for the ideas we value.
"Much of our experience in this life relates to
our humanness, our sense of spirit and how we choose to interact
with each other on a day to day basis. Sometimes those three
things seem to be at odds, especially in light of today's cultural
and societal values. But we can find ways to use our
freedom, our intellect and our spirit to work for a better world
and society for us all.
"The new songs address these issues on a
much more personal level than I have before. They seek to
lead the dialog and open up people's thought process to how
wonderful and opportunity we all have as living beings to enjoy
our freedom, yet look for guidance that is freely chosen to ways
to live better lives. I am very proud of the new team I have
assembled to work with on this project and am excited with the
direction we are heading. I look forward to performing this
production and sharing it."
C.P's
past recordings will remain available at present and future
events.

The meaning of Christopher, Philosopher
SYMBOLISM. Symbols are all around
us--everything we see and hear can be interpreted as a symbol.
Often it is studied in schools, especially when we are younger.
As we grow older, many of us forget the consciousness of the
symbolism present in our lives. WHAT DO WE
REPRESENT? WHAT DO WE STAND FOR? WHAT DO WE BELIEVE IS
IMPORTANT? These are the questions that the Founders of
America lived and discussed every day of their lives.
America would not be here without great American Philosophers like George
Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Thomas Paine...

Why a Comma? |
|
I have chosen the comma as my symbol
because it represents several important values:
1. A comma is punctuation, representing the value of education
in achieving success. We all need a leader like
Christopher, Philosopher who understands the ideals and values
represented by education and the comma.
2. A comma instructs one to pause for a moment to think and
then continue on. In today’s society we need more
reminders for us to pause and think about the consequences of our
actions without preventing us from stopping progress altogether.
We all need a leader like Christopher, Philosopher who
encourages thoughtfulness as well as being able to take a decisive
stand.
3. A comma physically points in a direction. To best
encourage a good society it is most effective to point to a positive
direction of values and goodness. We all need a leader like
Christopher, Philosopher who will never give up on the idea that we
can ALL be better people no matter who we are or where we start
from. Who believes in picking us up when we fall and encourages us
to leave behind our weakness and work together for a brighter future
for us all

Who is

him?
Bio
Christopher Speaks at Kiwanis Club of
Peachtree-Atlanta at the Capital City Club
The
Peachtree-Atlanta chapter of the Kiwanis Club invited Christopher,
Philosopher to be the featured speaker at its meeting on Nov. 28,
2006. Christopher, discussed his efforts
to bring the art of personal conversation and discussion back to
modern society through his work over the last three and a half years
as leader of The Sustainable Society Discussion Forum, as well as
his current music project and his new
LWSTS™
event.

Christopher's LWSTS group gives money to Charities- Voluntarily
People and societies do best when they willingly volunteer to
share their resources and help bring out the best in their
society. A voluntary approach to sharing and helping others is
far superior to forced mandates. This takes leadership and demonstration, which is one
of the things we try to do each month at the monthly LWSTS event,
wine-tasting and discussion.

Each month, Christopher's Sustainable Society and LWSTS event
donates a portion of the proceeds to a worthy charitable
cause.

What happened to the Dream?
If we take a look around today, the Dream has largely disappeared,
replaced by an implied acceptance in the popular culture and media
which shows us as "normal" negative values like "gangsta thug
culture", laughing at or making fun of drug abuse and addiction (including the new society-killers like ecstacy,
meth. and Ice), and a "use-or-be-used" way of living that ruins all society as well as the lives of those
affected. The fact of constantly promoting a "ghetto-fabulous"
lifestyle combined with leaders and entertainers encouraging
our youth to go to prison instead of encouraging EVERYONE to stay in
school, bothers me, because they pull all people down in our lives,
aspirations and destroy our dreams for a better tomorrow. We
must choose instead to lift ourselves up, no matter one's particular
background or starting circumstances, educate ourselves constantly
by finishing school and studying and learning as much as possible (rather than being
disruptive), maximizing our education throughout our ENTIRE lifetime as a
protection against downsizing and layoffs.
Our society would be far better for ALL people at all
economic levels and backgrounds by encouraging everyone to break
away from the new slavery that is reliance on government programs to
bail out those people who don't take real opportunity, education and
thinking seriously at the cost to all society--a slavery to
government subsidies and programs which are daily emphasized ONLY by
those leaders who don't really want anyone to get ahead and break
the chains that bind them.
Why does all the good in our society and its many people go
unadvertised? Who will stand up with me to say, "Enough is
enough! I believe we are better Americans and better people than
this!"
All one has to do is look at our popular culture displayed on
television, TV "news" that celebrates only the worst in society,
billboards that advertise disrespect and selfishness instead of
sacrifice and positive virtues, and the destructive, unrealistic
oversexualization of every person and activity displayed which tears
down beauty and what is supposed to be beautiful rather than
seeking to build it up.
What is really going on here? Why are we doing this to
ourselves? More accurately, why are we ALLOWING our leaders
and cultural icons: musicians, artists, athletes and others alike to
perpetrate this destruction on us and our society without demanding
better for ourselves and our families?
I don't know about you, but I believe it is better to try to be a better person
each day, no matter who you are or what your background is. I'm so tired of all these ridiculous images we're all
assaulted with constantly. So I came up with my own creative
image: an image of Truth to fight back against all the lies in our
society and say "I for one have had ENOUGH and I for one am willing
to do something important about it!
